Mercedes A and B Service

How Mercedes Ensures Quality Repair with the A and B Services

Mercedes Maintenance Services

The Mercedes slogan “The Best or Nothing” doesn’t just apply to their product. To be certified to repair Mercedes vehicles, technicians must undergo specialized training and courses. Along with many other things, these technicians will learn the two-phase process that Mercedes organizes for repairing their cars. This is the Mercedes A and B services, and when a car owner brings their Mercedes to a dealer or alternative they are getting one of these two packaged inspections.

What Is the Difference Between Service A and B

Because Mercedes repair includes several different checks and components that may not be necessary every single visit, the many different parts of the checklist are simplified into two groups.

Service A performs some of the necessary checks like replacing the motor oil, oil filters, all fluid levels, and checking the tire inflation and alignment as well as the brakes, and resetting the maintenance counter.

Service B performs several checks such as Cabin air filters and oil filters, brake fluids and components, tire alignment and pressure, and all fluid levels, and then resetting the maintenance counter.

You will notice that some of the services occur in both types because they need to be done every year, but ones that only need to be done every other year can be done uniquely in one of the service types. Then resetting the maintenance counter to one year is helpful no matter which service was done last because it is a year either way. It simplifies the process quite well.

Why Are A and B Services Necessary?

The Mercedes A and B repair services create a maintenance schedule for your vehicle depending on how much it gets used. Generally, after 10,000 miles or 1 year, you should have your car taken in for service. Because each maintenance happens at around 10,000 miles you can simply alternate between them for easy organization. This makes it easy for the vehicle owner because they only need to know that their car needs service every year, so they can continue to have the convenience and quality of the car while receiving the best maintenance. Every model will have specific versions of the A and B services that the technician will take care of, but for the most part, the owner won’t need to worry about these distinctions.
